The Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Tourism, Antonio Real, along with parish priest Francisco Varela Figueroa, presented the initiative ‘Sabores Solidarios Jerez 2026’. The event seeks to unite solidarity, gastronomy, and culture to contribute to the needs of these parish communities.
The day of coexistence will take place on November 7, starting at 1:30 PM, at the Tablao Flamenco Puro Arte. The donation for participation will be 100 euros, including food and drink. After the solidarity lunch, the celebration will continue with an afternoon gathering and live musical performances.
Antonio Real highlighted the City Council's collaboration, emphasizing that in Jerez as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2026, this solidarity initiative also showcases the region, its products, wines, hospitality, and extraordinary gastronomic richness.
The initiative originates from two parish communities: the Parish of Nuestra Señora del Rocío, which is undertaking the construction of its temple in the north of Jerez for approximately 25,000 people, and the Parish of Nuestra Señora de Fátima, established in areas like the La Constancia neighborhood, with intense pastoral and social activity.
Varela Figueroa stated that a parish is more than a building; it is a community called to accompany and help those most in need. He thanked the Jerez City Council and the Cádiz Provincial Council for their support.
Prominent gastronomy professionals will participate, including Israel Ramos (Mantúa), Ángel León (Aponiente), Francisco Jesús Grimaldi (Hnos. Grimaldi), Mauri Molina (Botarate), Manuel Morales (Restaurante AL&MA), Ángel Rodríguez Camacho (Avante Claro), and Pablo Queijo (Dessert Pastelería de Autor), along with wineries and companies. Musical performances will be by Anabel Rosado and Kina Méndez, with a special collaboration from artist José Carlos Naranjo.
