The works will allow for the conditioning of key routes such as the rural road ‘De la Zapera’, with an investment exceeding 125,000 euros. This action aims to solve problems with the road surface, which is severely deteriorated, and improve drainage by constructing new transversal culverts and retaining walls.
These interventions are part of various plans by the Junta de Andalucía. Eleven roads are being improved under the Andalucía Actúa Plan, while the ‘De la Zapera’ road is part of the Itínere Rural Plan.
The territorial delegate of the Ministry in Jaén, Soledad Aranda, along with the mayor of the municipality, Francisco Carmona, visited two of these projects to monitor their progress. Aranda emphasized the Andalusian Government's commitment to the province's agricultural sector and the effective maintenance of vital infrastructure for the province, especially for olive cultivation.
The delegate also mentioned the investment effort to mitigate the damage caused by the recent storm systems. On the rural road ‘Cagancho’, also being addressed through the Andalucía Actúa Plan, accumulated mud has been cleared, sections repaired, and the road surface reconstructed.
