The Carmona Fair, one of the most anticipated celebrations in the province of Seville, begins its 2026 edition with a significant innovation: the free distribution of bracelets for detecting drugs in beverages, aiming to enhance attendee safety.

From May 13 to 17, the city of Carmona becomes the epicenter of one of the most attractive fairs in the region. For five days, both local residents and visitors from nearby municipalities will gather at the fairgrounds to enjoy this traditional festivity.
This year, the fairgrounds will be illuminated by over 150,000 light bulbs, creating a festive atmosphere. The main safety novelty is an initiative by the Local Police, who will distribute free bracelets designed to detect the presence of drugs in drinks. These bracelets work by applying a simple drop of the beverage to verify its contents.
The fair will commence with the traditional Alumbrado (lighting ceremony) and a performance by the “El Arrabal” music band. In addition to the detection bracelets, other measures have been implemented to improve the attendee experience, such as a lactation room in the municipal booth and music-free hours at attractions for individuals with auditory sensitivity. A free urban bus service will also be provided to facilitate mobility and a public, free Wi-Fi network for stallholders.
The activity program includes free concerts at the municipal booth, part of the forty-five open-access booths. Furthermore, there will be a booth decoration contest and the traditional horse parade, taking place daily from 12:00 to 19:30, with a competition organized by Peña La Giraldilla to award the best child and adult riders.
Finally, the Delegation of Festivities, the Caritas group of San Antón Parish, and the Association of Andalusian Fair Entrepreneurs are collaborating on a solidarity campaign. For every food donation made by citizens, free tickets will be given to enjoy the attractions throughout the five days of the fair.
