The province of Córdoba is once again hosting the National Pilgrimage of the Vera Cruz, an event of great historical significance that returns after 25 years. The central day was celebrated in Castro del Río, led by its Brotherhood of the Holy Vera Cruz, a fraternity with over 470 years of history. The president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, accompanied the pilgrims, emphasizing the pride it brings to the province to host this gathering.
Salvador Fuentes highlighted the heritage and identity of Castro del Río, mentioning its historic Villa neighborhood and traditions as part of a history worth knowing. The celebration served as a showcase to present the town to the numerous visitors from across Spain.
The Provincial Council of Córdoba expressed its satisfaction in collaborating with an event of this magnitude, underscoring its economic and social impact on Castro del Río and the Guadajoz Campiña Este region. The arrival of over a thousand pilgrims generates activity and benefits the local area.
