The Cádiz Manga Festival (Femanca) 2026, organized by the Youth and Childhood Delegation of Cádiz City Council in collaboration with various youth associations, now has its official image. The winning proposal was selected from a total of 66 entries submitted to the competition.
Colegio San Felipe Neri will once again serve as the main venue for the event, thanks to its facilities that can accommodate the large number of attendees and activities. A spokesperson for the organization highlighted that the festival is consolidating its position as one of the most important gatherings in the province dedicated to manga culture, anime, and alternative leisure.
“"This festival demonstrates the enormous creative talent and involvement of young people from Cádiz and Andalusia in cultural initiatives that attract more public and participants every year, and from our city, we maintain that commitment to youth, culture, and a participatory, creative, and open leisure model for all citizens."
The competition jury, comprising representatives from the organizing associations, technicians from the Youth Delegation, and the area's spokesperson, met on May 7. After an initial deliberation, 14 semifinalist works were selected, from which three advanced to the final round. Ultimately, the artwork by an artist from Almería was chosen, receiving a 500-euro prize and the recognition of having their illustration as the official image of the festival.
The organization expressed gratitude to all participating artists, emphasizing the significant increase in submitted works and the growing interest the festival generates nationwide. Furthermore, the non-profit nature of Femanca was highlighted, driven by collaboration with youth associations to foster activism and youth participation.
