The Flamencad 2026 festival, which follows the spirit of the historic Jueves Flamencos of the Enrique el Mellizo peña, begins this Thursday with a performance by Tomatito. The concert, starting at 10:00 PM, will feature his show Una guitarra de legado universal (A Guitar of Universal Legacy). Tickets for this event and subsequent festival dates are available on the cadizentradas.com website.
Antonio Montoya, promoter of the festival alongside Curro Velázquez Gaztelu, recalled during the program presentation that Tomatito feels "special affection" for Cádiz and has "good memories" of the previous Jueves Flamenco series.
The Flamencad 2026 festival will take place at the Baluarte de la Candelaria with a total of four flamenco nights. Following Tomatito's performance on July 9th, the festival continues on July 16th with Jesús Méndez and Alonso Núñez 'Rancapino Chico', accompanied by Antonio Higuero (guitar), Edu Gómez, and Naim Real (palmas).
The lineup proceeds on July 30th with the show Love flamenco, featuring the Cádiz-born dancer Juan José Villar, Juan Fernández, Vero la India, Fuensanta Blanco, vocals by El Turry and Ezequiel Montoya, percussion by Cheyenne, and guitar by young talent Marcos de Silvia, winner of a scholarship from the Paco de Lucía Foundation and Latin Grammy.
The final event is scheduled for August 13th with Mujer: juventud y flamencas (Woman: Youth and Flamenco), where two young singers from Seville and Chiclana, Reyes Carrasco and Esmeralda Rancapino, will demonstrate that the deep art of flamenco has a secure future.
