While the Jerez Horse Fair captures attention, another town in Cádiz joins the May festivities. Los Barrios has begun its celebrations in honor of its patron saint, San Isidro, with a program that promises to fill its streets with a festive atmosphere.
The official program for the Fair and Patron Saint Festivities began on Sunday, May 10, with the traditional 'Sunday of lanterns'. This year, as a novelty, the City Council has decided to extend the fair by one day, ending on Sunday, May 17, instead of the usual Saturday.
Among the most prominent events are the coronation ceremony of the Children's and Youth Courts, the Grand Fair Parade, the procession in honor of San Isidro Labrador, and the Grand Bullfight. Additionally, this year's edition will feature a free tourist train that will travel through the main streets of the town, facilitating access for residents and visitors.
“"This year's 2026 edition will also feature a free tourist train that will have a circular route through the main streets of the town and will have five stops."
The tourist train will be available at specific times during May 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, offering a very useful service to enjoy all the activities scheduled for this important festive event.
