The provincial corporation gave initial approval to key measures such as the Cádiz Marcha+ 2026 Plan, with nearly 34 million euros allocated to repair storm damage and promote municipal growth, benefiting 45 town councils and 10 autonomous local entities. This plan, which doubles its previous budget, will fund 160 actions and prioritizes municipalities with fewer inhabitants and resources.
Additionally, the Economic Assistance Plan for the drafting of General Municipal Planning Schemes was initially approved, with 658,061 euros, targeting municipalities with populations between 5,000 and 10,000 inhabitants. Complementing these, the Plan for Hiring Technical Staff will receive 1.6 million euros for town councils with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants.
These initiatives, highlighted by the President of the Provincial Council, are in addition to over 20 million euros in budget modifications for projects by town councils and social, sports, and cultural entities. These include aid for social rental housing for the elderly in Sanlúcar, the eastern ring road in Alcalá del Valle, and improvements to the Vía Verde.
The Plenary also addressed motions concerning self-employed workers, public services, invasive algae, the Infoca Plan, and the rights of the Sahrawi people. It was agreed to urge the Spanish Government to implement VAT exemption for self-employed individuals with annual turnover below 85,000 euros, and a bill to facilitate Spanish nationality for Sahrawi people was supported.
It was urged that Correos y Telégrafos (Spanish Post) maintain the office in Río San Pedro, Puerto Real, open. The Corporation also approved measures against Asian algae, requesting greater involvement from the Regional Government of Andalusia and the central government, and called for increased resources for the Infoca Plan.
Finally, rejection was expressed towards the government agreement between the PP and Vox in the Regional Government of Andalusia, requesting that rights not be curtailed. The Provincial Company for Housing and Land of Cádiz, S.A. approved its balance sheet and management report, and an extraordinary credit recognition for emergency work on the CA-8101 road was approved.
