The gang, codenamed operation 'Asher', was planning to assault another criminal organization to steal a quantity of narcotics, an act known in police jargon as a 'vuelco' (rip-off). The searches were conducted in Dos Hermanas, Alcalá de Guadaíra, Carmona, Utrera, and the provincial capital, Seville.
The investigation began in Conil de la Frontera (Cádiz) after a stolen vehicle was discovered in a tourist rental property. Officers found two stolen cars with false license plates, one of which had been modified for drug transport. Numerous weapons were also seized, including an assault rifle and pistols, along with police equipment such as bulletproof vests and vehicle light bars.
It is concluded that the detainees intended to impersonate police officers, adopting the 'Policía full' aesthetic, to carry out the drug theft. They then planned to sell the stolen drugs to other organizations. The group also provided security at drug drop-off points, and one of its members shot a Civil Guard officer last summer at a drop-off point in the Guadalquivir estuary.
Furthermore, they are linked to the violent assault on a jeweler in Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz) in July 2025, where the victim suffered serious injuries while they attempted to steal a briefcase containing approximately 300,000 euros worth of jewelry. For this robbery, they used GPS trackers to follow the jeweler from Córdoba.
The house searches, carried out on June 15th, included the Seville neighborhood of Las Tres Mil Viviendas. Over 45,000 euros in cash, a pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, jewelry, watches, three cars, and a motorcycle were seized. Nine individuals were arrested, including a minor, and another minor is under investigation.
Operation 'Asher', conducted by the Civil Guard's Property Crimes Unit in Cádiz, has been overseen by Court number 6 in Chiclana de la Frontera. The detainees face charges including robbery with violence and intimidation, arms trafficking, possession of war weapons, illegal possession of firearms, drug offenses, vehicle theft and handling stolen goods, document forgery, and serious disobedience.
