The Teacher Training Center (CEP) of Cádiz is organizing the nineteenth edition of its flamenco courses, which this year explore the deep connection between flamenco art and cinema, offering training to teachers from the province.

These established gatherings in Cádiz's cultural calendar mark 19 years under the organization of expert Fernando Gallo. The sessions, scheduled for May 5, 7, and 12, are aimed at teachers and focus on the relationship between flamenco and cinema.
The edition will feature a lineup of renowned flamenco singers and experts, including Rocío Márquez, David Palomar, Regina, and Manuel Cuevas. During the sessions, artists' experiences will be combined with the presentation of innovative pedagogical practices related to flamenco, already implemented in various educational centers across the province.

"Once again, the response from teachers has been very satisfactory, and 119 applications have already been received from educators in Cádiz and its bay to attend the meetings."

The main objective of these courses is to equip teachers with tools to integrate flamenco into their classes, both as a subject of study and as a pedagogical resource to address different areas of knowledge. This initiative is framed within the mandate of UNESCO, which included flamenco in its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and in the context of the Andalusian Flamenco Law and the General Strategic Plan for Flamenco by the Junta de Andalucía.
The CEP of Cádiz has demonstrated a long trajectory in this field, advocating for almost two decades for the potential of flamenco as a driver of educational innovation. For this edition, the activity is structured around two main lines: the use of flamenco documentary cinema as a didactic resource and practical, experiential access to flamenco singing, dancing, and guitar playing, guided by great interpreters.
The poster for the XIX edition was designed by the artist from Cádiz, José Díaz Cardero.
