Cádiz Boosts its Business Fabric in May with 319 New Companies

The province of Cádiz registered notable business growth in May 2026, adding 319 new companies and reaching a total of 33,553 registered corporations.

The province of Cádiz concluded May 2026 with a total of 33,553 companies registered with Social Security. This figure represents an increase of 319 corporations compared to the previous month and 156 more than in the same period last year, according to data from the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia.
Small businesses, with one or two employees, lead the provincial productive structure, totaling 16,383 organizations. Large companies, those with 250 or more employees, amount to 124 firms.
By sectors, the services sector solidifies its position as the main economic driver, housing 26,485 companies. Within this segment, commerce stands out with 7,194 firms, closely followed by hospitality with 5,848 establishments. Construction contributes 3,119 corporations, the primary sector 1,993, and industry 1,956.
Other activities such as professional and auxiliary services each have 1,920 firms, transport accounts for 1,777, and healthcare activities for 1,408 businesses. The remainder of the business landscape is completed by various activities.
This business upturn has had a direct impact on the labor market. The province ended May with 341,289 workers registered, marking the addition of 558 new employed individuals in just one month.
The services sector once again proves to be the primary employer, with 262,898 professionals. Hospitality leads employment within this sector with 50,124 workers, followed by commerce (48,929), healthcare activities (45,837), education (35,258), and auxiliary services (27,287).
The provincial industry supports 40,160 jobs, of which 33,761 are in the manufacturing branch. Construction employs 25,368 people, and the agriculture and fishing sector concludes the month with 12,863 workers.
