Albert Celades, with a notable playing career that included spells at Barcelona under Johan Cruyff and Real Madrid's 'Galácticos', as well as being a youth international for Spain, now takes on the challenge of managing the yellow team.
His coaching career includes managing the Spanish U17 and U21 national teams, as well as a stint in Julen Lopetegui's technical staff at Real Madrid. He later coached Valencia CF in La Liga, where he experienced a demanding period after Marcelino García's dismissal, finishing the season in ninth place and leaving a positive impression in European competition.
His most recent experience was in Cyprus, managing Pafos FC. Now, Celades faces the challenge of taking charge of Cádiz, a task considered immense, especially after a preseason where the team did not find its desired playing style. The defeat against UD Las Palmas in the Trofeo Carranza marked Idiakez's last match.
Celades' arrival comes at a critical time, with only four days to get to know the squad, implement his ideas, and prepare for the league debut against Celta Fortuna, with the pressure to secure a positive result.
The new coach will be officially presented this Wednesday the 12th at 12:30 PM, alongside Christian Septien and Rafael Contreras, in an event where details of the new project are expected to be revealed.
