The festival 'La Isla Ciudad Flamenca' continues its programming in San Fernando with a week dedicated to flamenco singing, dancing, and guitar in emblematic venues. The main event of the week will be the Noche Flamenca del Parque, bringing together prominent artists such as La Macanita, Miguel Rosendo, Inma Lara, and Lola La Chiri.
Additionally, the festival pays tribute to El Chato de La Isla on the centenary of his birth. A Flamenco Mass will be held on Thursday at the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, remembering this key figure of flamenco from the area. The program also includes recitals at the historic Venta de Vargas and the launch of the 'Atardeceres en la Bahía' cycle.
The Noche Flamenca del Parque will take place on Saturday, August 8th, at the Auditorio del Parque Almirante Laulhé. The lineup features the Jerezano voice of La Macanita, the local singer Miguel Rosendo, the dancer Inma Lara, and the young singer from Chiclana, Lola La Chiri, showcasing the diversity of current flamenco.
The tribute to El Chato de La Isla is complemented by two photographic exhibitions running until August 31st: 'Festival FlamencA Arles, France' at the Casa Natal de Camarón de La Isla, and 'Recordando a El Chato de La Isla' at the Centro de Interpretación Camarón de La Isla, which explores his life and work.
The Venta de Vargas will host recitals such as the 'Candlelight' by Agustín Mancheño and Román Vicenti, as well as dance performances by Elena Arias and Ana Berrocal. Singer Carmen La Shica will participate in two events: on Tuesday at the Alameda Moreno de Guerra and on Sunday from the traditional Balcón de la Gran Vía.
On Sunday, August 9th, the 'Atardeceres en la Bahía' cycle begins at the Paseo Marítimo de Bahía Sur, inaugurated by singer Carolilla Castilla, uniting flamenco, landscape, and sunset.
