The City Council will allocate funds from the Provincial Council of Cádiz's March Plan, along with its own resources, to initiate the first phase of the works. This initial intervention is valued at approximately 1.3 million euros.
The governing team has emphasized that the recovery of the pavilion, closed since May 2022, is a firm commitment made at the beginning of their term. The aim is a comprehensive rehabilitation to preserve the building and enhance its features, thereby avoiding demolition.
The complete intervention could amount to around 3.5 million euros, a figure significantly lower than constructing a new building. This investment addresses the need to return a historic facility, used by clubs and a venue for competitions, to the community.
Recent studies, conducted in collaboration with the Provincial Council, indicate that the intervention will focus primarily on the upper structure and interior elements, as the building's base shows no significant damage. The rehabilitation will include improvements in accessibility, modernization of facilities, and energy efficiency criteria, as well as the enhancement of the surrounding exterior area.
The City Council has expressed its gratitude to the Provincial Council of Cádiz for its involvement and collaboration. Efforts will continue to secure complementary funding and grants to complete the entire project.
