The performance, titled ‘Cádiz dentro de un piano’ (Cádiz within a Piano), is based on a book-album the two artists recorded years ago, aiming to capture the sounds of Cádiz, both musical and street-level. The show is a dialogue between literature and musical scores.
Javier Galiana, born in Cádiz in 1975, is a jazz pianist trained at the Catalonia Higher Music School (ESMUC). He has lived in various cities and is known for his musical background in the historic city.
Meanwhile, David Monthiel is a writer from Cádiz with a diverse body of work including poetry, short stories, and novels. He has contributed to publications such as Rebelion.org and El Salto Andalucía. His notable works include the short story collection ‘Yuri Gagarin que estás en los cielos’ and the novel ‘Nuestra señora de la esperanza’, which won the L'H Confidencial International Noir Novel Award in 2019.
The event, organized by the Fernando Quiñones Foundation, will begin at 8:30 PM and offers free admission until full capacity is reached.
