The intervention, which involved an investment of over 363,000 euros, has allowed for the renewal of various sections of concrete collectors that were in an advanced state of aging. This action enhances the reliability and optimizes the functioning of the sanitation network, extending the lifespan of the infrastructure.
The work, carried out by Aquatec Soluciones Medioambientales S.A.U., took place both within and outside the city walls, affecting collectors in streets such as Plaza Viudas, Vidal Street, Dominican Republic Street, Paco Alba Street, Campo del Sur Avenue, Lázaro Dou Street, Mirador Street, Alcalde Blázquez Street, Manuela Molina and Guadalete Streets, Barbate Street, and Alejandrina Gessler Shaw Street (Girasol Street).
The progressive planning of the works minimized disruptions to traffic, pedestrian circulation, and the impact on residents and businesses.
The rehabilitation was performed using a continuous liner system cured with ultraviolet light (UVA/LED). This technology creates a new structural conduit inside the existing pipe without excavation, by inserting a flexible liner reinforced with fiberglass and impregnated with special resins.
This procedure significantly reduces execution times and the inconveniences associated with traditional construction, while also decreasing the need for civil works and contributing to a more sustainable intervention. Previously, the collectors were inspected by robotic cameras and thoroughly cleaned.
With the completion of this project, Aguas de Cádiz continues to modernize its sanitation network with innovative solutions to improve the performance and durability of its hydraulic infrastructure.
