The University of Cádiz has successfully held the third edition of its Agroecological Market at the Puerto Real Campus. This initiative, driven by the Office for Sustainability, has established itself as a key meeting point to foster conscious consumption and support local and organic products.
During the event, both the university community and the general public had the opportunity to explore and purchase a wide variety of agroecological, artisanal, and fair trade products. The offerings included seasonal vegetables and fruits, artisanal bread, honey, artisanal salt, fresh produce, and other local foods, provided by over a dozen regional producers.
In addition to the commercial offerings, the market featured workshops and environmental information stands. Various organizations and projects addressed topics such as carbon footprint, responsible consumption, circular economy, and sustainable mobility, creating synergies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
In this third edition, a raffle for an EcoBasket, filled with products donated by participating producers, was held again. Through this activity, the University of Cádiz reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, environmental education, and the promotion of healthy and environmentally friendly eating habits.
