The sports facilities at the third court of La Barrosa beach are the venue this Saturday, August 15th, for the twenty-fourth edition of the Ciudad de Chiclana Beach Volleyball Tournament. The announcement was made at a press conference by the municipal delegate for Sports, Isabel Butrón, along with representatives from the Sancti Petri Volleyball Club, Alessandro Caballero, Jonathan Macías, and Antonio Estrada.
This tournament, with over two decades of history, has become a summer tradition. This year's edition guarantees participants a minimum of three matches played, with no early eliminations. The event will feature fresh fruit, entertainment, music, over 1,000 euros in prizes, and prize draws.
Registration, open until 2:00 PM on Thursday, has so far seen participation from approximately 150 athletes from Chiclana, Málaga, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, Badajoz, Huelva, Algeciras, and other nationalities.
Isabel Butrón highlighted the tournament's importance as an "obligatory event" for beach volleyball players and thanked the Sancti Petri Club for their work in consolidating and growing the event year after year, encouraging participation to enjoy a great day with various activities and a fantastic atmosphere.
For his part, Alessandro Caballero noted that the tournament is one of the most significant events for their club and one of the oldest in Andalusian beach volleyball, considering it a regional and national benchmark. He emphasized the effort to improve each edition and its iconic status in the provincial sports calendar.
The club representative also highlighted the event's impact on Chiclana, attracting players who include the tournament in their holiday stays, thus generating a positive impact on local tourism and sports activity.
