The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, along with representatives from Social Services, Economic Development, and the Red Cross, presented certificates to participating establishments. The initiative aims to encourage shopping at businesses in the Fuente Amarga zone, providing them with stickers bearing the slogan ‘I shop in my neighborhood’.
A total of 32 businesses have joined this campaign, which is part of the ERACIS program's activities along the Fuente Amarga road. The mayor recalled the municipal interventions carried out in the area to make it more welcoming and highlighted the involvement of the commercial sector as a significant economic driver outside the city center.
The participating businesses, ranging from greengrocers and jewelers to beauty salons and real estate agencies, receive these insignias as a token of appreciation for their daily work and close customer service.
“"The daily goal is to be on par with a municipality like Chiclana. I appreciate the mayor's visit and his commitment to local commerce. We must all continue working so that Chiclana remains as beautiful as it is."
Representatives from the businesses expressed their gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing that the campaign highlights the important work of neighborhood merchants and reminds everyone that shopping locally means investing in their own community.
The ERACIS+ campaign seeks to strengthen the local economy through the involvement of small businesses, fostering a close relationship and sense of friendship between merchants and customers.
