The State delegate for the Zona Franca of Cádiz, Fran González, and the mayor of Rota, José Javier Ruiz Arana, formalized a collaboration agreement this Friday. The objective is to inform Rota residents about available training actions and facilitate their participation, with a special focus on the unemployed, young people, and groups facing employment difficulties.
Among the initiatives to be promoted is the free program ‘Emprende y Avanza’ (Entrepreneur and Advance), developed by the Zona Franca of Cádiz in partnership with the INCYDE Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain. This program, covering the entire Autonomous Community of Andalusia, is co-financed by 85% by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
The protocol aims to expand the reach of these training programs, facilitate access for the citizens of Rota, increase local participation, foster an entrepreneurial culture, and generate synergies between municipal employment policies and the Zona Franca's programs.
The City Council of Rota commits to disseminating the calls for training through its official channels, collaborating in participant recruitment, and, if possible, providing municipal spaces for course delivery. It will also distribute informational materials and direct interested parties to the registration channels.
For its part, the Zona Franca will provide the City Council with the necessary information and materials regarding calls, schedules, available spots, and results, as well as data on the participation of Rota residents.
The agreement, which does not involve financial or budgetary commitments for either party, will be valid until December 31, 2026, the planned end date for the ‘Emprende y Avanza’ program, with the possibility of extension.
Following the signing, Fran González and José Javier Ruiz Arana visited the facilities of ‘La Plaza · Rota Tourist Hub’, a municipal space dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation, funded by NextGenerationEU funds. This center includes offices, coworking spaces, multipurpose rooms, and technological equipment, and will host training sessions on artificial intelligence and smart cities.
