The Councilor for Sports, Beatriz López, and the director of IES Santa Catalina de Alejandría, Pilar Abelenda, presented the event, which will have 900 participants in the race and around 600 in the walk. The event, held to commemorate the feast of the city's co-patron saint, has a strong solidarity focus.
Beatriz López highlighted the commitment of the educational community and the role of sport as a "nexus" to unite different abilities and realities. She announced that the first 300 participants in the general classification of the race will receive a pre-reservation for the San Antón race.
Pilar Abelenda thanked the City Council and the Provincial Council for their collaboration, and invited participants "to run, to walk, and to share a morning where the important thing is not to arrive first, but to arrive together," emphasizing the common goal of "peace, integration, and equal opportunities."
The race will feature categories from under 12 to veterans, as well as one for people with disabilities. The race will start at 11:00 AM and the walk half an hour later. The route is 4,600 meters, starting and finishing at the Plaza de los Perfumes.
Race bibs can be collected at IES Santa Catalina de Alejandría during office hours (08:30 to 14:00) today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, November 5th. They can also be collected on race day, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at the start/finish area. A commemorative t-shirt for the XXVI edition will be included in the runner's bag.
