The play, with a libretto by Luis Fernando Sevilla and Anselmo Carreño, is a one-act zarzuela that transports the audience to a Madrid setting through a plot of two intertwined love stories.
The main plot follows Rosa, a proud worker at the 'Los Claveles' perfume factory, accustomed to playing with her suitors' feelings. Her attitude clashes with that of Fernando, the factory cashier, who decides to respond with apparent coldness upon discovering Rosa's intentions to mock him, triggering a spiral of jealousy and unexpected twists.
In parallel, the production offers a comic counterpoint through the adventures of Jacinta and Goro. Their intention to marry is thwarted by unexpected secret revelations from their respective parents, Evaristo and 'señá' Remedios, leading to a funny family entanglement where past confessions ultimately lead to a happy ending.
This collaboration between the Teatro Darymelia and the Teatro Lírico Andaluz adds to the cultural programming for San Lucas, offering residents and visitors an essential date with art, tradition, and lyrical music.
Tickets are available for purchase at giglon.com and Ayala Música.
