The mayor of Adamuz appeared publicly with a serious demeanor and an angry tone, in front of the Parliament of Andalucía, in the final stretch of the election campaign. His complaint focuses on the alleged political use of the train accident by a regional president during the last electoral debate.
“"Until this past Monday, I had maintained institutional loyalty, being completely faithful to what had been said so that the investigation could proceed. But I was surprised to see the manipulation during the electoral debate by the regional president. And I could not remain silent for another day."
The mayor harshly criticized the handling of the tragedy, stating that "mayors from other towns arrived before the ambulances." To support his claims, he mentioned having data from his town's traffic cameras, which, according to a study by the Local Police, recorded only nine ambulances heading to the accident site almost an hour after the incident, refuting higher figures that had been circulated.
The socialist mayor was accompanied by the mayors of Montoro, Villafranca, and Pedro Abad, who supported his stance against what he considers a "manipulation" of the facts for electoral purposes.
