The Sierra Nevada resort facilitated the observation of two astronomical phenomena last Wednesday, August 12, with approximately a thousand people ascending to Borreguiles. Visitors were able to enjoy the solar eclipse and the Perseid meteor shower from an altitude of 2,700 meters.
The Borreguiles cable car remained operational throughout the day to allow free observation from the Borreguiles area. Additionally, the resort organized various scientific and educational programs focused on both celestial events.
The astronomical programming in Sierra Nevada will continue over the weekend. This Saturday, the activities 'Sunset at the Veleta', 'Discover the sky of Sierra Nevada', and 'Daytime visit to the Observatory' will take place. On Sunday, August 16, the offering will be 'Sunrise at the Veleta'.
