The fire originated around 4:10 AM and, after sustained effort, the extinguishing teams managed to stabilize it by 7:15 AM, preventing its spread in a sensitive forest area.
To combat the flames, an operation of 42 professionals was deployed, including forest firefighters, an operations technician, environmental agents, and three fire engines. The work was complicated by high temperatures recorded, unusual for nighttime hours.
The Infoca Plan highlighted the dedication of the personnel, noting that the overnight work allowed the day to begin with the fire under control.
One of the most notable aspects of the intervention was the temperature, which exceeded 34 degrees Celsius during the night, increasing the risk of flame spread and complicating control efforts during a period of intense heat in the province of Granada.
The rapid response prevented major consequences, although surveillance and mopping-up operations will continue to prevent flare-ups in the affected area.
