Their sole defeat was against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte ATM in the first round, and a draw in the opening match against Arenas de Armilla.

During the first leg, the Almería players sought to score from the outset. After several chances, a player put the team ahead with a header just before halftime. In the second half, another player extended the lead, and with twenty minutes remaining, the same player scored again, making it 0-3.

The rout was completed ten minutes from the end when one of the recently introduced players scored the fourth goal.
