The event, part of the activities promoted by the HLA Mediterráneo Chair, was attended by the Territorial Delegate of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería. The delegate emphasized the strategic importance of making the province a reference point for high-level surgical knowledge exchange. This initiative aims to strengthen the healthcare system through public-private collaboration, fostering continuous training and technological innovation.
“"The constant updating of our specialists is the best guarantee to offer citizens cutting-edge, safe, and efficient care."
The medical director of HLA Mediterráneo Hospital highlighted the work of the HLA Chair in creating quality training opportunities for professionals in the province. These initiatives directly impact the improvement of therapeutic options, outcomes, and patients' quality of life.
The course directors, specialists in Otorhinolaryngology, explained that the program was designed in collaboration with a clinic in Palma de Mallorca and HLA Mediterráneo Hospital, aiming to offer practical, dynamic, and high-level training. The program allowed professionals rotating access to the operating room, with real-time broadcasts and the opportunity to ask questions about the procedures.
On the first day of the course, two procedures were performed in the hospital's intelligent operating room: a septorhinoplasty, which corrects both the aesthetic form and respiratory function of the nose, and an otoplasty, designed to reposition prominent ears. Professionals noted that otoplasty is particularly relevant in pediatric age, as it can significantly impact children's emotional well-being.
The second day focused on surgical thinking, decision-making, critical structure analysis, and managing potential complications, based on real cases and seeking simple solutions to enhance results and clinical safety. The course featured prominent national speakers in facial plastic surgery from cities such as Barcelona, Zaragoza, and Madrid.
