Saturday, August 22, marks the start of a vibrant weekend at the Almería Fair, offering a daytime filled with authentic flavor through the midday fair in the city center, and a night full of lights and music at the fairgrounds.
The sports program includes the VI Swimming Crossing City of Almería at Playa de la Térmica, the XX Almería Fair Golf Tournament at Club de Golf Alborán, and various weightlifting, table tennis, and foosball trophies at the Palacio de los Juegos Mediterráneos. The XXVI Badminton Fair Open will also take place at the Pabellón José Antonio Segura.
Other notable sports events are the Beach Tennis Tournament at Pistas del Andarax, the XXXIII Canoeing Regatta at Playa del Palmeral, the 131st Fronton Tournament at Frontón Andarax, the II Senior Men's Football Trophy at the Complejo Deportivo La Cañada, and the XXIII Boxing Gala at the Escuela Rafael Lozano.
Gastronomy will play a leading role with the IV Meeting of Almerian Gastronomy at Plaza de las Velas, featuring talks and tastings. The Midday Fair will be inaugurated at Puerta de Purchena, with musical entertainment and a fusion flamenco pop concert.
In the afternoon and evening, the fairgrounds will come alive with the Cooltural Fest 2026 at the Concert Venue, featuring performances by artists such as Ana Torroja and Hombres G. The Caseta Municipal will host orchestra music until the early hours.
The day also includes the XIII Taurine Surgery Proclamation at the Patio de Luces of the Diputación de Almería, the Flamenco Dance Showcase at the Anfiteatro de la Rambla, and the Extraordinary Fair Concert by the Municipal Music Band of Almería at Plaza de la Constitución.
Additionally, the XLIV Andalusian Fishing Contest will be held at Playa del Perdigal, and the Solemn Septenary in honor of the Virgen del Mar will commence at her Sanctuary.
