This procedure is a crucial first step in organizing the city's most significant festivities, as any unrenewed plots will subsequently be offered through public tender. Businesses that operated within the fairgrounds or at midday ambigús during 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025, and whose licenses included the option for mutual agreement extensions for up to four additional editions, must submit the required documentation.
The deadline for submitting applications and all necessary documents is next Thursday, May 21. The renewal process requires the submission, via the Almería City Council's electronic headquarters, of the application form, relevant administrative documents, and a technical project if any modifications have been made to attractions, stands, stalls, or ambigús. Additionally, electrical data must be included, and for midday beach bars, information related to subcontracting.
The previous edition of the fair featured a wide array of installations, including five traditional stalls, eleven youth stalls, 21 adult attractions, twelve dedicated to shows, 31 children's attractions, 34 food stalls, 40 skill games, 36 confectionery stands, one traditional stand, and 14 for street vending. At the Midday Fair, five ambigús were set up in key locations such as Plaza Flores, Plaza Tomatito, Plaza Virgen del Mar, and Plaza Pablo Cazard. A decision regarding the future of the beach bars traditionally located on the Paseo de Almería is still pending.
