The Almería town was only surpassed by Coín, in Málaga, which reached 39.4 °C. This is not the first time Albox has topped the temperature charts in the province, as last Monday it was the hottest municipality in Almería with 39.8 °C.
The weather station in Huércal-Overa, also in Almería, registered the fifth highest temperature in Andalusia on Tuesday, with 38.4 degrees. Unofficial data from the Southeast Meteorological Association (Ametse) indicates that in some inland areas of the Levante Almeriense, such as Turre and El Pinar de Bédar, temperatures exceeded 40 degrees.
For this Wednesday, Aemet forecasts a general decrease in maximum temperatures across the province. Temperatures of up to 35 degrees are expected in inland areas like the marble region and the Tabernas desert, while on the coast, maximums will not exceed 30 degrees. Overnight lows will remain high.
